Pictured here are branches with buds on them. This photo was taken on April 22, 2018 near my house. I don’t know what kind of plant this is. I was drawn to its buds, a sure sign of spring. This photo is very interesting as well. I really like how the anchoring branch demarcates the sky above and trees below in the background.
Here’s another photo of a robin. This time it’s captured on a branch of a tree bearing black berries. This photo was taken on March 4, 2018 in a wooded area near my house. I love the blue sky background and the black berries. They add colour and interest to the photo. Of course the robin steals the show!
This photo shows a house finch perched on a branch. It was taken on March 15, 2018 in my neighbourhood. It is the only clear shot of a house finch that I have managed to capture so far. I love the bird’s red and brown coat. It really stands out from the background.
This photo was taken yesterday near my house. I don’t know what kind of tree this is. When I checked on my Garden app, it said the tree was a maple. Still not certain if the app is right. What you can clearly see are the buds on the branches. They are beginning to emerge in response to the change in season. The buds are a wonderful sign of early spring!
Resting on a small branch is a chickadee. This photo was taken on March 4, 2018 near my house. Chickadees are common birds that I see pretty much every time I go out on a shoot. They are notoriously difficult to photograph as they are small and very quick. I was lucky here and was able to capture this nice, clear shot of one. Patience does pay off!
